AISI 4145 Steel is a high quality Quenched and Tempered Alloy Structural steel, It belong to the high quality medium carbon, Oil Quenched & Tempered Hardenss is 28-34 HRc.4145 Annealing delivery hardenss less than 250HB. 7: AISI 4145 Steel Application
AISI 4145 is used for engineering structural, like high tensile shafts, bolts and nuts, gears, pinions and spindles. Locomotive traction with the big gear, supercharger drive gear, pressure vessel, rear axle, gear load of connecting rod and a spring clip,4145 can also be used to under 2000 m deep well of oil drill pipe joint and the fishing tool, and can be used for bending machine mould, etc.
8: AISI 4145 Steel Heat Treatment
Softening Treatment
Holding at 740~760℃ for 4~6 hours, then cooling at 50~100℃/h to 600℃, and finally out of the air-cooled.
Normalizing
Heating at 850~870℃, and then air-cooling after discharging.
Quenching
Heating and quenching at 820~840℃, selecting suitable coolant according to the actual situation.
Tempering
Tempering process according to the mechanical properties required by the workpiece.

10: Delivery Condition
For hot forged or hot rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged or rolled, annealed or QT, black surface or rough turned.
For hot forged plate, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed or QT, milled surface.
For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed or QT, black surface.
