17Cr3 DIN 1.7016 Alloy Structrural Tool Steel
1: 17Cr3 Steel Introduction
17Cr3 is a common low alloy structural steel, which can increase the surface carbon content and the depth of carburization significantly during carburization, but tends to grow grains and form network carbides during carburization at high temperature and for a long time. The parts with simple shape and low requirements can be directly cooled and quenched after carburization, but the deformation after heat treatment is larger and temper brittleness is found. The hardenability of the steel is higher than that of the 15 # carbon steel. In addition, the steel has high cold deformation, good weldability and good machinability in the annealed state.

7: 17Cr3 Steel Application
17Cr3 is used for carburized parts with high core strength requirements and surface wear, large size, or complex shape and low load. Such as gear, gear shaft, cam, piston pin, worm, etc., can also be used as high speed and bear moderate impact load quenching and tempering parts.
