DIN C15/1.0401 Carbon Structrural Steel Bar
1: C15 Steel Introduction
C15 has a good balance between toughness, strength and ductility and is the most commonly used steel in the world. Although its mechanical properties are not very unique, it can still be easily formed, machined, welded and manufactured. C15 has excellent weldability and uniform hard surface layer, which is considered as the best steel for cementite. Hardening may be carried out by carburizing and other case hardening methods. Carburizing can achieve typical surface hardness HRC 58.

7: C15 Steel Application
C15 steel is suitable for the manufacture of automobiles, tractors and general machinery manufacturing industry in the construction of less important, high surface hardness requirements and the heart of the requirements of small and medium-sized carburizing, carbonitriding and other parts, such as automotive handbrake shoes, lever shafts, transmission speed fork, transmission passive gears and tractor camshafts, suspension equalizer shafts, equalizers inside and outside the bushing, etc.; in the hot rolled or normalized state for the manufacture of the force is not large, and the Requirements for high toughness of various mechanical parts; in the heavy and medium-sized machinery manufacturing industry, such as forged or pressed tie rods, hooks and rings, levers, sleeves, fixtures and so on.
8: C15 Steel Heat Treatment
Normalizing: Normalizing temperature 870-920 ℃, out of the air cooling.
Annealing: annealing temperature of about 860 ℃, cooling with the furnace.
Quenching: quenching temperature (910 ± 10) ℃, in NaCl for 10% of the brine cooling.
