1: Cm45 Steel Introduction
Cm45 is a medium carbon steel for use when higher strength and hardness are required than in the "rolled" condition. Extreme dimensional accuracy, straightness, and concentricity combine to minimize wear in high-speed applications. Cm45 can be heat treated to improve its properties. Common heat treatments include normalizing and quenching. Normalizing increases the hardness and strength of the material, while quenching increases the wear and corrosion resistance of the material.
