The mechanical properties mainly include tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, area or reduction, hardness, impact value, non-metalic inclusion etc. Different heat treatment, the mechanical properties will be different, such as normalized, tempered, QT. 7: SKD8 Steel Application
SKD8 can be used to manufacture hot forging die, extrusion die, copper alloy die, aluminum copper magnesium hot press molding die, plastic die, etc..
8: SKD8 Steel Heat Treatment
Hot-working treatment : 900-1100 ℃
Annealing : temperature 820-870 ℃, holding time 2-4h, slow cooling to about 500 ℃, air cooling out of the furnace.
Quenching | salt bath furnace: 1010 / ℃
Quenching | controlled atmosphere furnace: 1020/ ℃
Tempering temperature / ℃ : 550
After tempering hardness HRC or higher: 60

10: Delivery Condition
For hot forged bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed rough turned/Black surface.

For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed, black surface.
