The mechanical properties mainly include tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, area or reduction, hardness, impact value, non-metalic inclusion etc. Different heat treatment, the mechanical properties will be different, such as normalized, tempered, QT. 7: SKT6 Steel Application
SKT6 is mainly used in heavy high toughness stamping die, high stress injection mold, heavy cold working tools, cutting tools, as well as high hardness and high toughness plastic mold.
8: SKT6 Steel Heat Treatment
Forging
Heat slowly and evenly to 1050 ℃. Reheat the steel if necessary to avoid working at temperatures below 850 °C. After forging the steel, cool slowly in a furnace or in an insulating material.
Annealing
The components are homogeneously heated 630 - 650 ℃ to soak and then slowly cooled in an oven to about 600 °C and cooled in air.
Hardening
Heat the tool slowly and evenly to 650 - 700 °C and soak thoroughly continue to the hardening temperature of 840 - 870 °C and heat the assembly through. Quench the assembly or cool it in air.

10: Delivery Condition
For hot forged bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed rough turned/Black surface.
For hot rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed, Black surface.
For hot forged plate, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed, milled surface
For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed, black surface.
