8: S25C Steel Heat Treatment
Annealing
S25C is heated to a temperature of about 800°C-900°C, held for a certain period of time (usually 1-2 hours), and then slowly cooled to room temperature. The annealing treatment removes internal stresses and improves the toughness and workability of the steel.
Normalizing
Heating to a temperature of about 860°C-900°C, holding for a certain period of time (usually a few minutes to half an hour), and then cooling by air cooling or in air. Normalizing produces good strength and improves the toughness of the steel.
Hardening
Heating above a critical temperature (usually about 830°C to 870°C), followed by rapid cooling (e.g. with a cooling medium such as water, oil, etc.). The quenching treatment results in the formation of martensite on the surface of the steel, increasing hardness and strength.
Tempering
After the quenching treatment, the S25C is heated to a temperature between 150°C and 500°C, held for a certain period of time (usually a few hours) and then cooled by appropriate cooling. The tempering treatment reduces the brittleness of the material and reduces the hardness to some extent, increasing toughness and malleability.

10: Delivery Condition
For hot forged bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed/QT, rough turned/Black surface.
For hot rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed/QT, Black surface.
For Cold Drawn bar, usually the delivery condtion is cold drawn, annealed/QT, peeled/black surface.
For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed, milled/black surface.
For hot forged plate, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, normalized/annealed, milled/black surface.
