The mechanical properties mainly include tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, area or reduction, hardness, impact value, non-metalic inclusion etc. Vary heat treatment will cause vary mechanical properties, such as normalized, tempered, QT. 7: JIS SUP7 Steel Application
Automobile, locomotive, large plate spring, spring, etc. SUP7 Spring Steel is mainly used for heavy vehicles, tractors, industrial production load, stress and the diameter of the larger plate spring and helical spring.
8: JIS SUP7 Steel Heat Treatment
Forging:
Hot forming temperature: 1050-850℃.
Soft annealing:
First heat it to 640-680℃, then cool slowly in furnace, which will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 255.
Hardening:
At first hardening begins at a temperature of 830-860 ℃, next followed by oil quenching.
Tempering:
It will take place when the steel is in air at 350-550℃.
