1: 1.1730 Steel Introduction
1.1730 Medium Carbon Steel is a medium carbon steel with high carbon content of about 0.55%. This steel is processed from high quality raw materials through melting, casting, rolling and other processes. It has excellent mechanical properties and excels in strength, hardness and toughness. At the same time, 1.1730 medium carbon steel also has good abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance, which can be adapted to a variety of complex environments.

7: 1.1730 Steel Application
Mold making: used for cold heading molds, plastic molds for top and bottom plates, as well as casting and die-casting tools.
Mechanical processing: due to its good workability, it is suitable for making mechanical parts such as mold base and frame which do not bear high stress.
Agricultural tools: Used for making agricultural tools, fading tools, leather knives, etc.
Other applications: It can also be used to make hand tools, pliers tools, etc., as well as some parts that require high wear resistance and heat resistance.
8: 1.1730 Steel Heat Treatment
1.1730 has poor cutting properties and requires spheroidizing to improve cutting performance. In terms of heat treatment, 1.1730 needs to be slowly heated to tempering temperature, which can vary between 180 and 300°C depending on different hardness requirements. The tempering time is usually at least 1 hour per 20mm thickness to ensure a uniform temperature within the material.
Annealed condition: 149 to 192 HBS.
Normalized condition: 183 to 255HBS.
Hardened and tempered condition: 229 to 285HBS.

10: Delivery Condition
For hot forged bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed/QT, rough turned/Black surface.
For hot rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed/QT, Black surface.
For Cold Drawn bar, usually the delivery condtion is cold drawn, annealed/QT, peeled/black surface.
For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed, milled/black surface.
For hot forged plate, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, normalized/annealed, milled/black surface.
