1: 1.2516 Steel Introduction
1.2516 die steel is a high-quality, high-performance steel, mainly used in the manufacture of high-strength, high-precision mold parts. 1.2516 steel's chemical composition contains less carbon and sulfur, which improves its weldability and hardenability. Similarly, its chromium content is relatively high, which makes the steel have good corrosion resistance and quenching hardening properties, and can meet the requirements of high strength and high precision of mold parts. In terms of processing, 1.2516 steel has good machinability and is easy to be finely processed and shaped by cutting, drilling, milling, etc., thus making the final manufactured mold parts more precise and stable. In addition, the steel is also able to withstand high-temperature processing and is not easy to produce deformation and cracks.

7: 1.2516 Steel Application
1.2516 steel is mainly used for manufacturing the following products:
- Cold work molds: such as shear molds, punching molds, templates and so on.
- Cutting tools and engraving molds: such as cold punching cutting tools, engraving tools, etc..
8: 1.2516 Steel Heat Treatment
Annealing: annealing temperature / ℃: 710 ~ 740; annealed hardness ≤ HBS: 230.
Quenching: hardening temperature / ℃: 780 ~ 810, water quenching.
Tempering: common drawing temperature / ℃: 180 ~ 250; tempered hardness HRC | 100 ℃: 65; tempered. hardness HRC | 200 ℃: 62; tempered hardness HRC | 300 ℃: 57; tempered hardness HRC | 400 ℃: 51.
Normalizing: at normalizing temperature, then cooled in the furnace.

10: Delivery Condition
For hot forged bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed/QT, rough turned/Black surface.
For hot rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed/QT, Black surface.
For Cold Drawn bar, usually the delivery condtion is cold drawn, annealed/QT, peeled/black surface.
For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed, milled/black surface.
For hot forged plate, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, normalized/annealed, milled/black surface.
