1: AISI A8 Steel Introduction
AISI A8 is high strength, high chromium steel engineering plastic, forging special steel, is also a kind of oil-cooled, air-cooled hardened die steel. It is suitable for high cut-off cutting and forming processing, with high wear resistance and high toughness of multi-use high alloy die steel. AISI A8 has high haedness, excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature characteristics, and common hardness range is 52-58 HRC.

7: A8 Steel Application
AISI A8 is used for precision die, edge cutting die, deep drawing die, cold forging die, pendulum rolling die, rolling die, cold extrusion die with complex shape and pipe drawing die.
8: A8 Steel Heat Treatment
Tempering of A8 steels is performed at 148-315°C (300-600°F), Double tempering is recommended for tempering temperatures of 900°F and higher. Soak well at the selected temperature and soak for at least one hour per 25mm of total thickness.
