1: Cr06 Steel Introduction
Cr06 die steel is a low alloy tool steel containing a small amount of chromium with a high carbon content to ensure high hardness and wear resistance. The addition of the alloying element chromium to this steel is used to improve hardenability, temper resistance, hot hardness and wear resistance.Cr06 die steel has high hardness and wear resistance after quenching, but the hardenability is not good, and due to the high carbon content, prone to the formation of reticulated carbides, which may affect its performance, especially in the large tools or thin-edged large cross-section tools, brittleness is more significant.

7: Cr06 Steel Application
Application areas for Cr06 mold steel include:
Making knives that require a sharp edge for low load operation, such as surgical knives and face shaving blades.
Also used as manual and motorized tools such as scrapers, carving knives, files and wool scissors.
Suitable for making woodworking tools and also simple cold working molds such as punching and cold pressing molds.

Heat treatment specifications:
677 ± 15 ℃ preheating, 855 ℃ (salt bath) or 900 ± 6 ℃ (furnace-controlled atmosphere) heating, holding 5-15min, oil cooling, 58-204 ℃ tempering.
677 ± 15 ℃ preheating, 941 ℃ (salt bath) or 955 ± 6 ℃ (furnace-controlled atmosphere) heating, holding 5-15min, air-cooled, 56-204 ℃ tempering.
820 ± 15 ℃ preheating, 1000 ± 6 ℃ (salt bath) or 1010 ± 6 ℃ (furnace-controlled atmosphere) heating, holding 10-20min, air-cooled, 200 ± 6 ℃ tempering.
790 ± 15 ℃ preheating, 940 ℃ (salt bath) or 950 ± 6 ℃ (furnace-controlled atmosphere) heating, holding 5-15min, air-cooled, 200 ± 6 ℃ tempering.
