1: 1.2358 Steel Introduction
1.2358 is an ideal hot and cold work tool steel with high hardenability, high surface hardenability, high impact strength and wear resistance. It is suitable for complex processing environments such as molding, cold forming, deep stamping dies, etc. It is an ideal alternative to high carbon steel. Sawing reduces workpiece deformation, increases hardness, and is used directly for milling or drilling.

7: 1.2358 Steel Application
1.2358 is suitable for use in the fields of molding, cold forming, deep drawing dies, bending dies, plastic dies, cold extrusion dies, forming dies, stamping dies, segmented cutting tools, scissor blades, and hot work tools where low temperatures occur.
8: 1.2358 Steel Heat Treatment
Preheating: 1.2358 steel is heated to a temperature range of 500°C to 600°C and held for a period of time to evenly heat the steel.
Heating: The preheated steel is heated to a temperature range of 950°C-1000°C and held for a period of time (generally 10-30 minutes) to promote grain growth, dissolution of carbides, etc. The preheated steel is then heated to a temperature of 950°C-1000°C and held for a period of time (generally 10-30 minutes) to produce a uniform heating of the steel.
Cooling: Rapid cooling, either in air or by quenching. Quenching is more effective in transforming the material's organization into martensite.
Tempering: In order to eliminate the internal stresses generated during the quenching process and to provide the material with a certain degree of toughness, the solid solution treated material can be tempered. The material is heated to a low to medium temperature range (typically 150°C-400°C), held for a period of time, and then cooled to room temperature.

10: Delivery Condition
For hot forged bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed/QT, rough turned/Black surface.
For hot rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed/QT, Black surface.
For Cold Drawn bar, usually the delivery condtion is cold drawn, annealed/QT, peeled/black surface.
For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed, milled/black surface.
For hot forged plate, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, normalized/annealed, milled/black surface.
